LOS ANGELES: Singer Ben Harper has announced he rang in New Year by secretly tying the knot with social advocate Jaclyn Matfus. The singer had kept the news hidden from media from past two months, reported U.S. magazine.
The newlyweds stepped out together at the 2015 Grammys, posing with one another on the carpet and looking happily in love in matching black ensembles. The surprise nuptials are the second for the Grammy winner, who was previously married to Laura Dern for five years.
In 2010, the couple split citing irreconcilable differences. Together they are parents to son Ellery and daughter Jaya. The musician tied the knot with the Jurassic Park star in 2005 after meeting at one of his concerts in 2000.
Together they have son Ellery, aged 13, and daughter Jaya, aged 10. They divorced in 2013 after reconciling and splitting in an on-off relationship during their last years together.
The singer also has two children with his first wife Joanna, whom he married in 1996 and divorced in 2001. They have son Charles, aged 17, and daughter Harris, aged 14.
Ben, who recently won his third Grammy for Get Up! in the Best Blues album category - brought Jaclyn as his date to the award show in February.
