Super-Luxury Car Makers Bet Big on Smaller Indian Cities

Companies are planning events in these cities to reach out to greater mass and enlarge their market. They are luring the buyers with brunch drives providing them with opportunities to drive the Lamborghini. Pavan Shetty, head of operations, Lamborghini India, said, "We push for a brunch drive at least once a quarter from each dealer, which makes it 12 drives a year. So far, we have done it successfully in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Next leg would be in Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad very soon,"

Audi owns 39 showrooms across the nation and a new one is on the cards to be launched in Rajkot soon whereas Mercedes Benz is betting high on the Eastern market making an entry in Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar. In addition to this, Lamborghini added one more dealership in the nation with its Bengaluru branch.

The high-end car makers are enlarging their sales figure in India along with bringing innovation in their cars. The Huracan is also looking forward to launch its recent successful model in India where markets are brimming with potential. "We intend to launch 10 new varieties this year, catering to every segment; we also have a surprise for this month." said Joe King of Audi India.

However, the sales are threatened by the staggering 167 percent import duty imposed on the luxury cars.
