Kenny Troutt is the founder of Excel Communications, a company that used multi-level marketing to offer long distance phone service.

In 1988 he founded a long distance phone company called Excel Communications, and made it open to public in 1996. Two years later the merging of Excel Communications and Teleglobe happened in a $3.5 billion deal.
