Cheap Marketing Tactics That Actually Worked

WePay: It is an online payment service provider based in America.

They guarantee the best of services and also fraud protection. It is largely used for small market businesses, crowd funding sites and market places.

WePay worked their campaign success by targeting Paypal in a way, by dropping a huge block of ice that had bills stacked inside, with the writing "PayPal Freezes Your Cash". This gave them huge success among Public relation departments and the payment service provider also got more hits and traffic after this marketing stunt.

OFFSETTERS, Canada: This is a Vancouver based company that is striving towards getting the people to understand the effects of global warming and find solutions to tackle it.

This lead the marketing team to come up with a bizarre idea where they hung rafters from buildings, strapped life jackets to public benches and also had portal life guard stands with the sign “lifeguard on duty”, to create awareness. This didn’t take much money at all but the response rate was really good for the Company. OFFSETTERS live by their slogan “Less Talk, More Work”.

Carrie in the Coffee shop: This promotional video was made to promote the remake of a film called “Carrie” back in 2013. In this video the marketing team has created a scenario where a guy accidently spills coffee on a girl’s laptop and suddenly seems to have the same kind of ghostly powers of “Carrie” form the movie. So the whole room is monitored and the tables are electronically fitted to move when the girl raises her hands to push them.

It looks like some force is working to push the guy up a wall and also the tables as she looks terrified. The customers in the shop run away in fear, while others look on in awe. Well this promotional video gained huge popularity and the movie “Carrie” went on to make $ 38 million.
