World Bank Survey: Top 10 Indian States for Doing Business


BANGALORE: Economies have been ranked on their ease of doing business by the World Bank. This term ‘ease of doing business’ refers to how an environment is more favorable to the initiating and functioning of a local firm. The rankings are determined by sorting and assessing several indicators, providing equal credence to each topic where India ranked 142nd among 189 countries.

India still has a long distance to cover to make it to the leading spots globally, however, the immediate goal focuses on landing amongst the top 100. The various parameters include protecting investors starting a business, arranging credit, getting electricity, paying taxes, attaining permits for construction, implementing contracts and getting insolvency resolved, registration of property and trading abroad.

In association with the World Bank, Indian government released a report listing the states which offer the best environment and conditions for starting a business on India.

The following is the list of top 10 states in ease of business list, their scores for implementing key initiatives and are best for initiating a business India, reports ET.
