#6 Gujarat: Tax Revenues: 1,79,600 crore ($30 billion): Hailed as India’s most developed state and leading in the development model. Gujarat is located on the western coast of India and has the longest coastline of 1,600 km. It boasts of excellent infrastructure, strong petroleum sector, and educational sector as well.

Home to majority of NRIs across the world and is the only state in India where the state government has prioritized policies in almost all key sectors like, industry, power, ports, roads, agriculture and minerals.

#7 West Bengal: Tax Revenues: 1,69,900 crore ($29 billion): West Bengal is mostly dependant on agriculture and is the main source of income to majority of the population in the state. The small scale industries contribute most to the revenues and the traditional setups are dominant in West Bengal. The government of the state is actively engaging investments in industrial sectors to revive the industrial base, which at present is not so strong. The service sector in West Bengal contributes over 50 percent of West Bengal’s GDP.
