NRI Franchisee Serves Most Expensive Breakfast on Wall Street

BANGALORE: A King Size breakfast in New York City is going to need a King Size pocket too. The famous American diner Denny’s, run by NRI Marwahs, establishing its first outlet at Big Apple, has announced Grand Cru Slam (GCS) brunch special costing $300 per couple in its opening weekend last week . Denny’s run by Rahul Marwah and family propounded the idea that a big fat breakfast can aptly cost big money.

A regular Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny’s costs $5.99 across the country, however GCS offered the same for $300 along with Dom Perignon Premier Cru champagne (which alone costs $300 per bottle) and  a ‘bartender high five’ for free. . For those who feel the brunch costly, Denny’s also offers its regular menu of pancakes, hash browns and others at reasonable prices.

Franchisee Rahul Marwa said "There weren't any Denny's in New York City at all so we figured, 'Why not?'” in an interview to USA Today. He also said that as, the franchisee is located at the gateway to NYC’s Financial District they might as well buck up to its status on par with the location. This Lower Manhattan outlet has been lined with flat screen TVs, leather booths, and a copper-stamped ceiling. "We wanted to make sure we kind of stepped it up a notch for this neighborhood, which is the gateway to the financial district," he said.

Marwahs have established a hold on getting Denny’s franchisees in California and Texas. Denny’s at Manhattan, Big Apple is their first ever debut in NYC and it is indeed a ‘Grand Cru Slam’ debut.
