How Airlines Make Big Bucks From Their Passengers?

Bangalore: There was a time, when travelling by air used to be a rich man’s call. But with the changing time, this tradition has changed to much extent and a major number of people have started travelling by air nowadays. The most remarkable change that occurred in air journeys was the drop in the fares.

However, plenty of hidden facts about air travelling will come into action, if the terms and conditions of the airlines are observed closely. With the virtue of decreased air-fares, the airlines implement several other ways to mint money from their passengers. Economic Times reported some of these ways, which tends to get ignored by most of the passengers, but everyone pays them.

1. Baggage Charge

Most of the airlines do allow a backpack with the passengers and some of the airline does allow a small suitcase. But a backpack or a small suitcase might not be enough for all the passengers.

Every airline has their own weight limit on the baggage policies. If the passengers overpass the weight limit, they have to pay an extra baggage fees. This is one of the most common charges with all the airlines.
