HP and INDO-MIM Partner to Mass Produce Complex Metal Parts in India
HP Inc., a leading PC and printer manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Metal Injection Molding (MIM) company INDO-MIM to mass-produce metal 3D-printed parts in India. This collaboration aligns with the 'Make in India' initiative and aims to revolutionize metal parts production for sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer electronics, and medical equipment.
The partnership leverages HP's cutting-edge 3D printing (3DP) technology to enable INDO-MIM's Bengaluru facility to produce high-precision metal parts on a large scale. This move supports both domestic and international markets, showcasing India's capabilities in advanced manufacturing.
"We are ready to transform the landscape of metal parts production in India by manufacturing locally and exporting worldwide", said Savi Baveja, President of Personalisation & 3D Printing at HP, in a statement.
As part of the collaboration, INDO-MIM has invested in three HP Metal Jet S100 printers. Two printers will provide localized support for Indian clients and expand production capabilities. One will focus on new material development, while the other will drive application development, catering to customers in India, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
The third printer has been installed at INDO-MIM's facility in the United States, expanding the company's production reach.
"The acquisition of HP's Metal Jet S100 printers equips us with the latest technology, enabling us to meet the growing demands of our customers with efficiency and precision, as well as expand the library of materials qualified on the HP printer platform", stated Krishna Chivukula Jr., CEO of INDO-MIM.
Through this partnership, HP's advanced technology allows INDO-MIM to produce high-quality, consistent metal parts for the Indian and US markets. This collaboration is poised to drive innovation and elevate the global standing of India's manufacturing sector.
