Foreign Telecom to Bid Farewell

Bangalore: India was once booming in telecommunication industries as more and more foreign investors wanted to set up their business here but now suddenly there is a twist in the story and the companies wish to bid farewell to the country.

The twist is that TRAI proposed that the license would be sold in an auction and the reserve price for the spectrum in 1800 MHz band would be increased to 13 fold, so only the 5 MHz in 1800 MHz will be sold and the major half of the spectrum would be kept for re-framing which will be done from 2014 onwards.

At this sudden shock by TRAI many companies reacted negatively like Telstra Corporation of Australia and TeliaSonera AB of Sweden refused to participate in the auction and the worst was Telenor ASA of Norway which threatened to quit India.
