Entrepreneurship: A Word that Should Never be Taken Lightly

BENGALURU: A lot of graduates and undergraduates these days aspire to be entrepreneurs. It is no secret that only a small significant number actually understand the magnitude of the term and how difficult it is to become a successful entrepreneur. Others just like how sophisticated it sounds or they want to let people know that they have big ambitions in life, although they have neither the brains nor the guts to venture into entrepreneurship.

The world’s most successful entrepreneurs have had their share of heartbreaks and hardships. Most of them started small and came from humble backgrounds and through pure hard work, dedication, their belief in their pitch, with a pinch of luck have become the billionaires many envy today.

Here we have four tycoons who have endured hardships and failures and have become world beaters with time and belief. Let us see what they think of this very ‘sophisticated’ word and what they think people make of it:

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel says, “I'm nervous about people who say they want to be an entrepreneur. That's like saying I want to be rich or I want to be famous.”

Steve Jobs famously said, “About half of what separates the successful from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla adds, “Being an entrepreneur is like eating glass and staring into the abyss of death.”

And finally Mark Cuban, a Billionaire Businessman from America, who has weathered through the rains of despair to reach where he is now added, “Don't be an entrepreneur if you can't handle rejection. Every no gets you closer to a yes.”
