As E-Commerce Rise, Retail Brands Are On The Verge Of Extinction

BENGALURU: The online market, which is attracting most of the Indian urban population is being a trend setter in the Indian shopping world. As these E-Commerce firms offer lucrative discounts and a wide range products, sales of the exclusive brand outlets have tumbled, as reported by the TOI.

As E-commerce is said to be the future of the shopping, the mega stores, super markets and factory outlets are in trouble. Outlet shopping was in trend till two years ago, but the rise of the E-commerce markets have shattered the business of the outlets and hence many retail brands across the country are on the verge of extinction.

As per the predictions of the experts, this the gradual point of the decline of factory outlets and henceforth the manufacturers may have to go online for sales. The factory outlets were set up to avoid middlemen in business and the respective outlets gained business a decade ago.

Further, these outlets also offered five to 10 percent discount as the products were directly brought to the outlet from the factory, but now, outlets receive more of inquires than the sales.

Since the festive season is in coming, E-commerce firms are all set to attract customers with their ‘Big Sale’ days, hence buyers are just inquiring product prices at the outlets and purchasing them online.

Head of Business at Brand Factory, Suresh Sadhwani said "It becomes inconvenient for customers to go to each and every store individually. In case your sales of a particular year go well, there will be no stock at the stores making these standalone stores unprofitable."
