8 Companies That Made A Surprising Comeback


 

 

BANGALORE: A bad phase in business is never to be a surprise because that’s how businesses run and thrive. When there is no innovation, creativity dies and invention is no longer a bench mark, then companies can expect a decline in business, even to the point of shut down. Well that is what happened to a few companies that had a difficult time during the early 21st century.

These companies filed for bankruptcy, had a hard time attracting customers and new innovating companies outdated them. When all was lost, left to die these companies rose from their miserable state and today are some of the most successful companies in the world.

Polaroid:

It is a multinational electronics and eye wear company that filed for bankruptcy back in 2001. The Company was diversified into cameras, instant photos, film, and eyewear which were not doing so well. Polaroid rode high for a while and was expected to continue to be a household name even after the overtaking of the digital world.

But unfortunately the company was not able to match up to the competition posed by phone cameras and DSL However this company did not die, but fought out of the crisis and is doing well today. They recently came out with a new camera called the cube which gives high definition pictures and videos.

Herbalife:

The multinational health, nutrition and weight management products selling company had an annual profit of $4.8 billion in 2013. The company is now dragged into a billion dollar row, since hedge fund manager Bill Ackman accused the company of not selling good products as the company claims.

Herbalife has denied the charges and is being led by investor Carl Icahn who has a huge share in the company. Right now the company is struggling with their shares having fallen to $43 from $80.
