Singhal looks after the company’s search business working with IR techniques to perk up the search on the Internet. He joined Google back in 2000 on the persuasion of a friend Krishna Bharat, former principal scientist at Google. He was named a Google Fellow as a reward for his efforts to revamp the search engine in 2001.
