and daughter of Thomas Watson Jr. Her longtime lover was a woman named Patricia Spado and they lived together for over 14 years sharing homes and money. Olive then, with much effort adopted Patricia to ensure her partner a secure future, since same sex marriage was not legal. The couple broke up in 2007.
