Barkha Dutt is best known for the coverage of Kargil Wars, 1999. This coverage turned her into a national celebrity. At present, she is working with CNN IBN.

Her skill in interviewing people has gained her numerous fames. Her interview list comprises the names of Prime Minister, A category celebrities and business persons, Nobel Prize winners and many more.

The turning point of her journalism career happened to be the Kargil Wars, 1999. She was the only female journalist to capture some of the crucial happenings during the war. Her way of covering the war was no lesser than a soldier. She became a household name in India.  She took journalism to a different level in India.

Her dedication made her The Global Leader of Tomorrow Award winner (The World Economic Forum in 2001). She is a Padma Shri winner (2008) and has also received The Commonwealth Broadcasters Award (2002), The Broadcast Journalist of the Year award from the Indian Express (2005).

She is an English Literature graduate from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. She did her masters in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia. She also has a master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University, New York.
