The senior management team probably has the biggest influence in defining the strategy, culture and the entire ethos of people practices. Many organizations fail to create an environment conducive for people engagement, because the senior management are either ignorant or non-cooperative. A management team that evokes admiration from the people makes an organization click.
Research shows that often people leave managers and not organizations. So it is important to train line managers to become good people managers. To ensure innovative and effective internal communication, they may have to leverage the expertise of the marketing and communication department.
To build high performance, HR requires an insight into the various stakeholders and development of program management skills to coordinate the interplay.
