In a month of replacements and new appointments, IBM joined the bandwagon with its appointment of Rajesh Nambiar as the Vice President & General Manager of Global Delivery at IBM India. He will be replacing Mats Agervi, who has been appointed as the Vice President—Strategic Outsourcing, Global Technology Services at IBM Nordics.

Rajesh comes to IBM after 17 years with both sales and delivery experience, at TCS Earlier this year, IBM launched the Global Business Solution Center, based in Bangalore which creates and enhances a portfolio of replicable industry solutions. He has specialized in Applied Statistics and Data Analysis from India Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Rajesh will further refine IBM’s globally integrated delivery framework, focus on client satisfaction levels and development of talent pool in India. Rajesh will also synergize IBM’s globally benchmarked processes, talent pool and vast global network of centers to ensure operational and cost efficiencies that will allow IBM India to better adapt to the changing market and client demands for transformation and innovation.

IBM India, with 43000 employees is one of the key service delivery locations for IBM.

Speaking on the appointment, Shanker Annaswamy, Managing Director, IBM India, said, “Rajesh brings a wealth of experience to IBM, both as a business leader and an Industry authority. He joins us at a significant phase of the evolution of our overall services business and delivery model. We look forward to Rajesh leading the charge and continue building on the growth momentum that IBM has garnered in India today.”

This news follows IBM’s plans of setting up a new facility in Chennai. The fourth addition to the IBM India family, the Chennai set up would be in operation from 2007 and will employ around 3,000 people.
