CES 2012: Who Won, Who Lost?

Winner: Streaming and media services

More than half of the products at CES were integrated with some or the other media services to provide users an all-in-one experience. Televisions, tablets, mobile and many more products are letting in to these media services like Netflix, Amazon video on demand, Hulu Plus, Vudu and iTune. As the devices are getting smarter these services are integrated in to them.

Winner: AMR

Intel dominates the computer chip market but the ARM processor leads the mobile device (smartphones and tablets) chip market. At CES 2012 all tablets, smartphones, Smart TVs, and other mobile devices were powered by AMR processor while Intel concentrated only on ultrabooks and Windows 8 tablets.

Winner: RIM

RIM didn’t come up with any new product at CES, but with the update of PlayBook 2.0 with the addition of the email, contacts and calendar features sounds good.  Along with this the QNX powered car dashboard with an innovative application technology called NFC (Near-Field Communication) to connect immediately with Bluetooth smartphone using the RIM and PlayBook tablets was also impressive.
