A Glance At Xiaomi's Latest Offering: Redmi 2 & Mi Pad

Mi PadThe Redmi 2 in terms of specs has not come very far from the Redmi 1S. The noticeable changes are the dual-SIM support with 4G connectivity and it is much faster than its competitors at this price range.

Coming to the OS, both the devices have their custom built MIUI 6 as the user interface on Android Kitkat 4.4. The Redmi 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor backed up by a 1 GB of RAM along with an 8 GB of on-board memory. Apparently, there will be a limited edition of Redmi 2 with 2 GB of RAM and  16 GB of in-built storage hitting the markets soon.

On the other hand, Mi Pad is powered with a quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM which makes the apps to perform almost flawless. On the camera side, the phone and the tablet carries an 8 MP of camera on their backs. While on the front, the Redmi 2 sports a 2 MP camera and the Mi Pad features a 5 MP shooter.

Overall, these two devices leave us with mixed feelings. However, a phone and a tablet with such powerful specs and inexpensive price tag it is sure to get in good sales numbers.
