Xiaomi launches Yi Action Camera 2 in China with Advanced 4 K Resolutions

BENGALURU: “Memories “play an important part in everyone’s life. There are certain special moments that are once captured become a memory and can be later cherished for the entire life.  But, capturing moments in a better quality resolution camera makes it even more special in viewing them. Chinese phone-maker Xiaomi has rightfully exploited this market space by upgrading its Yi action camera with a Sony IMX377 12 MP ½.3” sensor support to bring back vibrant clarity in the pictures taken.

Advanced Yi Action Camera 2 can shoot still in naïve resolution along with 4K video. The lens enabled is a seven element piece with 155 degree viewing angle and f/2.8 aperture. The camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps, full HD videos at 120fps and HD videos at 240fps. The device also features a 2.19-inch LCD rear touch screen display and also sports corning Gorilla Glass for protection.

The image processing is done by Ambarella A9SE SoC supporting the H.264 codec and the camera features a separate app for image and video editing. Special feature includes shooting time-lapse video in 4K at 0.5/1/2/5/10/30/60 second intervals. However the major highlight of new Yi Action Camera 2 is the 1400mAh battery life with up to 2 hours of continuous 4Kvideo recording duration. It comes along with microSD card slot with 64 GB support, dual-band Wi-Fi support and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair with the phone. The six axis gyroscope enables electronic image stabilization.

Yi 4K is available in Black, White, and Pink color variant and priced at CNY 1199(approx Rs 12,500). The Camera along with additional Bluetooth remote and selfie stick is priced at CNY 1299 (approx Rs 12,500). It is also available for pre-order via a third-party online retailer.
