Wynncom releases its low-range phones Y30 and Y50

Bangalore: To join the race of low-range, high-end features' phones like Micromax, G-Fone, Zen and others; Wynncom unveiled a mix of seven Utility, Multimedia and QWERTY phones in the city. Their price range starts from 1,500 to 5,000. The flagship handsets among the launched phones are Y50 and Y30. Wynn Telecom, which is a part of 2,500 crore SAR Group, entered the business of making mobile handsets in May this year. Arvind Vohra, Co-founder and Managing Director, Wynn Telecom said, "Wynncom will be focusing more on VAS and developing features which would act as a differentiator in the market. Moreover, the company will be targeting the youth segment that are more tech savvy and love to have more and more value added services & applications in their mobile phones." The Y50 is a dual sim QWERTY handset that comes loaded with features like AIO messenger, social networking applications, Multimedia etc. It also allows the user to use a dual GPRS. The Y50 is largely marketed to be social networking friendly phone. The Y30 is dual SIM multimedia phone with dual speakers, 2 MP camera, FM radio with schedule recording, MP3 Player, Mobile Tracker apart from other features and is priced at 3,495. The market is seeing a lot of players foraying into the mobile handset business. A few days back, we saw Oscar Electronics launch 10 new dual SIM phones in India. And these players are keeping the price range of the phones at a much lower rate. Their main target is the youth and small town population. These phone makers should bear in mind the increasing number of competitors by the day and should constantly renovate and improvise their products. This would allow them run the race for a longer period of time. With so many companies coming to the market will it be a case of the more the merrier? Only time will tell.
