Top Mobile Brands to Launch 4G Devices This Festive Season

BENGALURU: This festive season, top smartphone makers in India are lining up to launch 4G devices, which has seen over 20 percent jump in sales in the world’s fastest growing market, reports Economic Times.

Companies such as Samsung, Micromax, Lenovo, Sony, LG, Karbonn, Intex, and Gionee are all planning to launch their latest 4G devices in the market this festive season. These companies see demand for 4G devices growing with the roll out of Airtel India 4G services. Big companies such as Vodafone and Reliance Jio Infocomm are planning to bring 4G services soon.

The marketing will be focused mostly online as 30 percent of the total smartphone sales happened through online and ecommerce websites. Moreover, 'exclusive' online only smartphone sales have contributed to more than 20 percent of the total smartphone sales between July and September so far.

Tarun Pathak, senior analyst, mobile devices and ecosystems at CounterPoint Research, said,  “Smartphone launches during the festive season generally have longer lifecycles and better recall due to promotions and incentives associated with the product during the launch and the market can see an overall 17 percent to 58 percent of yearly growth in fourth quarter of 2015.”
