Time For A Quick Comparison: Xolo Omega 5.5 VS Xiaomi Redmi Note

BENGALURU: With the Indian Smartphone maker Xolo launching its new Phablet, it stands as an ultimate competitor for the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note with its price. So, let’s find out which is a better one by looking at its specs as compiled by the Times of India.

# Display and Specs:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note and the Xolo Omega 5.5 come with 5.5-inch displays with 720x1280p resolution, making it even on the display side. In the hardware side, both the smart phones have MediaTek octa-core processors, but the Xiaomi phone has a plus point of a higher clock speed compared to the Xolo Omega 5.5.  The internal memory on both the phones is 8GB which can be expanded upto 32 GB with a microSD card.

# RAM and the Camera

When you compare the RAM on the phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note is definitely better with its 2GB memory compared to the 1GB on the Omega 5.5. On the camera front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note has a 13MP rear camera which is pretty good in the tests and the Xolo Omega 5.5 also has a 13MP camera which is yet to be tested. However, with Redmi,  the selfie lovers get a great 5 mega pixel camera on the front where the Xolo 5.5 gets only a 2 mega pixel.

# Battery

Xiaomi Redmi Note gets a 3100 mAh battery which provides a talk time of 17-18 hours with maximum brightness and 3G on. On the other hand, the Xolo Omega 5.5 comes with a 2,600mAh battery on it.

# Verdict

With the Xiaomi’s 4G model hitting the Indian stores sometime soon, this the best model you can buy if you want a future-ready phone within 10K. But the Xolo Omega 5.5 like most of the other smartphones in this same price range,  can support 2G and 3G networks. When the hardware and software is compared, the Xiaomi feels like a preferred option to the Xolo omega 5.5.
