Sony's High-Speed XQD Memory Card for High-End Cameras


Bangalore: Sony has launched a new high speed XQD memory card; with this launch the company has become the first one to introduce the XQD memory card range. XQD memory card comes in 16 GB and 32 GB storage capacity and only supports high-end digital SLR.

This memory card will helps professional photographers to capture the moment in the highest quality possible and this card will achieves stable continuous shooting of RAW images. Nikon D4 is the latest digital SLR which supports XQD memory card and is capable of shooting approximately 100 frames in RAW in continues shooting mode. The memory card provides data transfer rate up to 1 Gbps (write and read) through PCIe interface. This speed is 1.4 times better than the Compact Flash card.

Along with XQD memory card reader, Sony has also introduced a compatible USB 2.0 and 3.0 XQD card reader and XQD ExpressCard Adapter, by which users can quickly transfer large quantities of high capacity data.

These new products of Sony will be available in the market by February and the price is likely to be $129.00 for XQD-H 16 GB model, $229.99 for 32 GB XQD memory card and for card reader and ExpressCard Adapter the price will be $44.99, as stated in press release.
