Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9


Bangalore: Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9. The products will be in U.S. stores from 8th June. They are planning to launch them in India soon. Samsung claims that the new products are the World's thinnest Tab with 8.6 mm. Galaxy Tab 10.1 weighs 595 grams and the 8.9 tab weighs 470 grams. Both the Tablets were announced at Mobile world Congress. The approximate price for both the products will vary according to the memory. The 16GB version of the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1-inch device is $499 ( 22,379) and the 32GB at $599 ( 26,864). The 8.9-inch will cost you $469 ( 21,064) for the 16GB version and $569 ( 25,519) for the 32GB one. The tablets run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb at the same time these products will be the first to support Samsung's new TouchWiz UI for tablets. This feature includes a live panel that can be customized with different content, such as pictures, bookmarks, and social feeds. There's also an application tray that gives an access to more commonly used apps to help ease multitasking. The devices have a main camera with AF and LED flash and a front 2MP camera. It has Wi-Fi, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. The products also added the NVidia's dual core Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1 GHz, and DDR2 based RAM. The devices are HSPA+ capable and have better Flash support, full web rendering capabilities. This time with these two products, Samsung is giving a tough competition to apple iPad 2. The products are thinner than iPad 2. A stiff competition between companies like Samsung and Apple ,the consumers like us are the benefiters and can relish more of such gadgets.
