Samsung brings GT-B7722, Guru Dual 25 & 26 phones to India


Bangalore: Expanding its range of dual SIM phones, Samsung has introduced three new dual SIM phones for the Indian markets. The new offering from Samsung includes the Samsung Star Duos GT-B7722, the Guru Dual 25 and the Guru Dual 26. The Samsung Star Duo comes with a 3.2 inches display screen and a 5MP camera. What is special about this phone is that it is said to be the first 3G+2G (HSDPA + EDGE) dual standby touchscreen phone in the world. Connectivity wise, the device is Bluetooth enabled and features Wi-Fi, GPRS, and USB 2.0. The phone is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery that gives a talk time of 12.5 hours and a standby time of 420 hours. The GT-B7722 is priced at 12,300. Next in the lineup is the Guru Dual 25 which is available in markets at 2,020. The device features a 1.8 inch size screen display. With its standard Li-Ion 800 mAh battery, the phone gives nine hours talk time and 420 hours of standby time. The dual SIM (GSM+GSM) comes with 1MB internal memory and has other miscellaneous aspects like torch, bike mode among others. The Guru Dual 26 has 2 inch display with screen resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. Priced at 2,240, the device is an entry level phone with features like stereo FM radio, LED torch, music player with sound recording. Samsung is eyeing the growing dual SIM market in India with its new range of phones. But it should be noted that the home grown manufacturers like Zen, Micromax, Karbonn, Fly and Lava mobiles are giving a tough competition to the big players. So, in a desperate attempt to maintain their position as market leaders and to address the increasing challenge caused by the domestic mobile handset makers, the market giants like Samsung and Nokia are exploring all the possible means to bring out new, refreshing and advanced products to the market.
