SI Review: Blackberry Leap

BENGALURU: The Blackberry Leap has just touched the market and brings along a whole new package this time. The company has always made use of some exceptional quality on their handsets with their own proprietary OS Blackberry 10.3.1 and updated applications and features. So, let’s analyze some of the main aspects of the handset as compiled by the NDTV Gadgets.

Blackberry leap

# Appearance

The Blackberry leap on the appearance front puts up a classy look with a slim face and neatly strapped lines on its side. The device comes with a plain look which shows off no extra designs when the screen is switched off.

A grippy rubber finish spreads all over the back of the phone which adds on to the extra awesomeness of the phone. It has a non removable battery cover and the downside here is that the "8MP auto focus" label seems a bit out of the place on a professional device. The device almost resembles the Blackberry Z3 and can’t be differentiated if you place them side by side.

The leap here is only a few millimetres wider and a few grams heavier but things like the power button placed on top rather than the side, the SIM and microSD card slot switching places with the volume controls are now on the left and right sides respectively. You can still find the 3.5mm audio jack on the top with the micro USB slot at the bottom.
