Plastic Body Variant of the HTC One (M8) All Set to Release by May

BANGALORE: The latest variant of HTC One M8 with a plastic body is reportedly in the process to make a debut sometime next month says a new report by TMTPost. M8 is the new flagship HTC One upgraded version of code that was just unveiled earlier this year in London, while HTC One body has always been a metal casing.

The report revealed that the phone will be quite similar to One M8 in terms of design as well as hardware. It further speculates on pricing of this purported plastic version of the HTC One M8, noting that it is likely to cost 3,000 Yuan (29, 000 approximately) in China. If this proves to be accurate, the plastic model will be significantly cheaper than its metal counterpart, which costs 5,299 Yuan ( 51,300 approximately) in the Chinese market.

Moreover, this might help HTC to fulfill its goals of boosting its global market share.
In this case, HTC will allow the integration of all of its flagship phones in ONE series, similar to the Samsung Galaxy flagship product. This also means that HTC ONE product line in the future will have metal plates, plastic version, mini version and the big screen version. A plastic-bodied version of HTC One (M8) will help Taiwanese phone maker compete with rivals like Samsung in budget smartphone market.

Coming to the phone specifications and features, HTC One (M8) is adorned with a 5-inch IPS LCD full-HD display (1080 x 1920p, 441ppi) shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. HTC One (M8) is slightly larger with curved edges as compared to the original but the basic design and other important features have not changed much.
