New iPod Touch 2015: All You Need To Know

BANGALORE: After a long time and on the verge of being forgotten Apple comes out with a new iPod touch and sends a strong message that it is still not gone yet.

Hinting on the launch of a new product the Apple store went offline for maintenance.  As it revived, the store featured the all new version of iPod Touch.

Upgrades for the iPod line had been due since long and finally the new iPod touch lineup introduces new colors, a faster processor, a better camera, more storage, significant internal updates and an impressive price range.

Color Options and Designs

The new iPod is available in six shades that include dark blue, hot pink, gold, and the existing silver, black, and red. The home, power and volume buttons find the same places as their predecessors. However, the loop attachment option is no more present. 

Display and Connectivity

The new iPod touch comes with 802.11ac Wi-Fi support, bringing it in line with the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The WiFi connectivity can perform tasks like sending iMessages and make calls. The screen size remains unchanged, measuring 4-inches with a 1136 x 640 resolution, 500 cd/m2 brightness, fingerprint resistant coating and the same contrast ratio. The device stills lacks a Touch ID and GPS.

Camera Upgrades

The front facing camera comes with a new f2.2 aperture that would offer better selfie experience. The new 8-megapixel rear camera (up from 5 megapixels) that comes with features of iOS 8 camera app like slo-mo and burst mode.

Storage

Running on the 64-bit chip, M8 step tracking motion coprocessor with support for Metal-optimized games, iPod comes in four storage options- 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
