Multimedia Speakers, LG in a Launching Spree


BENGALURU: Priced at 5,990 and 6,990 respectively, the LH62 and LH64 Boom Blast multimedia speakers are LG’s latest offerings of its kind. While the latter is 4.1 channel set up delivering a 54 watts, the former is capable of delivering 36 watts through a 2 speakers and a sub woofer (2.1). They are Bluetooth enabled and contain a portable in, an aux in and a USB port.

Available at select LG brand shops, the speakers are designed to ideally suit home or office environments and are offered in two color options – black and gold. The speakers support FM, and can store up to 50 FM radio stations. LED Screen for indications, base and tuning channels are some of its other offerings.

The tech giant had earlier introduced range of portable Bluetooth speakers, PH1, PH2, PH3 and PH4, at IFA 2016.

The built-in mood lighting of PH1, according to LG, supposedly serves as a night lamp as well. With a battery backup of up to five hours, PH1 also boasts speakerphone facility. The smallest of the lot is PH2 equipped with a 2.5 watt amplifier and is apparently designed for activities such as cycling and hiking. The company claims that the speaker delivers a battery backup of six hours. Resembling a candle and featuring a 3 watt amplifier, the PH3 is available in three color variants and offers five multi-colored lighting modes. PH4 being the loudest of them boasts a 16 watt amplifier, dual-passive radiators (to improve bass), and delivers up to 10 hours of battery backup.

One of LG’s competitors in the realm is Intex which has also launched Bluetooth speaker priced at Rs 4000. Their IT Turbo SUF BT speaker supports USB port, SD card slot, Bluetooth connectivity and has a built-in FM tuner. "Intex has always provided consumers with best of the technology at competitive prices," said Nidhi Markanday, director and business head (consumer durables & IT) Intex Technologies. The speakers would be available through the company distribution across India.
