Mohit Goel, Son of A Grocery Shop Owner Astounds the Whole Nation!

BENGALURU:  With the news of Freedom251 smartphone buzzing around and shocking the whole country, very few know about its maker. The man behind the show Mohit Goel, CEO of Ringing Bells exposes the cheapest piece of wonder on 17th February in Delhi, setting a record for smartphone manufacturers across the globe, reports TOI.

Mohit Goel belongs to Garhipuktha, a small town in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The 28 year old headline maker is the son of Rajesh Goel, owner of a grocery store ‘Ram Ji’. His proud father was unaware of the feat achieved by Mohit, but firmly believed that his son would do something great. Mohit completed his schooling from Saint RC Convent School in Shamli and graduated with an engineering degree from Amity University, Noida. Soon after graduation, he founded the tech firm in September, 2015. But, he didn’t reveal any details about the firm. Recently, he married Dhaarna, resident of Noida and also a CEO at Ringing Bells now. Dhaarna guided Mohit to calm his nervousness at the grand event.

Rajesh Goel, also one of the directors of Ringing Bells, attended the mega launch of Freedom251 held in Delhi. Ashok Chadha, president of Ringing Bells, answered most of the questions at the event. Chadha, having over 46 years of experience in automobiles, chemicals, financial services industry and automobiles was well versed in technology.

Chadha proclaims that the Goel family has primarily been involved in the agri-commodity business focusing in UP and Haryana. In the form of equity capital, the Goels are investing Rs 200 crores to set up handset manufacturing hubs in Uttarakhand and Noida. The company also promises to fund additional Rs 300 crores for the manufacturing plants in bank loans. Yet, gaining profitable income by releasing a smartphone at a price as low as Rs 251 still remains a huge mystery.

"The Goel family has invested their savings into Ringing Bells," Chadha said at event.

Talking about the specifications of the market hitting smartphone, Freedom251 yields a crystal clear 4 inch qHD IPS display and 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The phone comes with decent 0.3MP Front and 3.2MP AF Rear cameras and runs on the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) platform. In terms of memory, it offers 8GB internal memory with 1 GB RAM. It also features a 1450 mAh battery capable enough to run applications efficiently for longer times. With over 650 service centers across India, Ringing Bells has released the flagship smartphone including a one year warranty.

"After completing his schooling, Mohit went to Noida and completed his graduation from Amity University. The last time that he was home to meet us, he had expressed his desire to open a company and I loaned him some money to start what he wanted to. Then he started a mobile phone company and told us about his venture. Little did we know what it meant then. It's really big, is it? We also attended the event where Freedom 251 mobile was launched in New Delhi," said Rajesh Goel.

Looking at the current scenario, companies like Ringing Bells will help India emerge as the world’s leading producer of affordable smartphones.
