Microsoft lures students to buy PC with its Xbox 360

Bangalore: Microsoft has planned a new strategy to increase its PC sales which has come up with an interesting approach of offering free Xbox 360, 4GB console to students who buy a Windows 7 PC. Microsoft revealed in its blog that, as long as your PC is over $700 you can avail this offer. The offer will be made available to online shoppers who purchase a PC from,, or Microsoft's online store. The deal will also be accessible at retail outlet of Best Buy or Microsoft's stores.

Xbox 360 is a dream platform of entertainment for game lovers as it instantly connects you to your games, friends, music, movies, and downloadable content. Currently Xbox 360, 4GB console retails for $200. The hardware feature is built-in Wi-Fi and comes with a black Xbox 360 wireless controller. However, if you want additional storage than you need buy a hard drive separately since 4GB seems highly insufficient in today's era.

In order to avail this offer you have to prove your status as a student, and for that you will need to have '.edu e-mail' address at the time of purchase and in case you do not have a '.edu e-mail' address, they can go to a retail store and present your student ID.

Starting from May 22 students in U.S. can grab the Xbox console free with their PC purchase and soon the offer will head to Canada and France.

Xbox is working exceptionally well at present, and looking at its demand, Microsoft have definitely made the right move.
