Microsoft Inventing Two-Sided Display Smartphone

Bangalore: Microsoft is working on a cool concept of dual-display smartphones and tablets, reports Patent Blot. These new devices will have a low-powered secondary screen at the back panel to display logos, time, notification, images and many more.

Microsoft is going to patent this two sided smart-device display system for smartphones, tablets and many other devices. This low powered secondary display is meant to show contents which do not change that often like unread messages, weather, time and important notifications which are otherwise not shows in the main display.

The company is also making a new secondary processor exclusively for this low powered display, which means the main processor can go for sleep and the secondary processor will be displaying minor information on the back panel of your smartphone or tablet.

One thought in this direction is the usage of electronic-ink (e-ink) display which can be easily mounted on the back panel, corner and edges of your device and can have icon to show network signal, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and battery level.

This novel idea of Microsoft is really useful when we are clicking photos as the people can see the timer and can give a perfect smile for you click. Ok, I know that sounds quite geeky, but it’s true that this concept is going to come alive in all your new smart-devices in few years.
