Micromax unveils Canvas Spark 2 Plus

BENGALURU: Micromax has unveiled a new smartphone for the Indian market. Dubbed as the Canvas Spark 2 Plus, it will be available for a price of Rs 3,999. The device is exclusively available via Snapdeal, and it will be available in Metallic Grey, Copper Gold and Champagne Gold color variants.

The device comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display (854 x 480) and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor along with 1GB RAM. It also includes an internal storage of 8GB.

Running on Android Marshmallow, the smartphone is equipped with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. A 2000mAh battery completes the package. It is also loaded with Indus language solution with support for more than 10 regional languages.

Commenting on this new product, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics, said, “A large number of consumers are still using feature phones or a second hand phone, which provides large scope and potential for them to upgrade to affordable smartphones. With this new launch, we are offering first time users a smooth transition at a wallet-friendly price. Our main aim is to convert feature phone users into smartphone users, and make technology and affordability available in one device.”

He further emphasized that through this partnership with Snapdeal for the exclusive Spark series, Micromax has very successfully opened the overall entry-level smartphone market and created a favorable impact in the e-commerce space by capturing over 11% of the exclusive online market last year. The new Canvas Spark 2 Plus will yet again prove Micromax’s commitment to empowering customers.
