Latest Reports Point towards Major Redesign for iPhone 8

BENGALURU: This year saw Apple report its first ever decline in iPhone sales since the product was launched way back in 2007. Since the report on its declining sales, the internet has been abuzz with the Cupertino-based “doomsday” and its due date. Yes, Apple is going through a challenging phase right now. But, what we should not overlook here is that Apple is still the world’s most valuable company–the company which gave us the iMac, the iPod and the iPhone. So write them off at your own peril. According to the latest reports, Apple is prepping itself for a major overhaul to the iPhone in 2017, most probably the iPhone 8.

This might not come as a surprise as it was earlier revealed by many websites that iPhone 7 won’t see any sizeable changes in features or design. However, the iPhone 8 is expected to undergo a major redesign with an all glass body and edge-to-edge AMOLED display, according to the website Macrumors. The device will no longer have the home button while the camera and Touch ID will be integrated within the display itself.

It has also been reported that the forthcoming devices, including the iPhone 7, will not have a headphone jack. This might pave the way for new wireless headsets or headphones with a lightning connector. With a little help from Beats, a company owned by Apple, the new headphones will be able to add more value to the device. Other likely features in the device: long range wireless charging, biometrical additions like iris or facial scanning, and a new A11 chip built on a 10-nanometer processor?. So, if you are an Apple fanboy its better to skip the iPhone 7 and wait till next year for the launch of the iPhone 8 or whatever it may be called then. Will Apple deliver? I surely won’t bet against them.
