Latest Budget Phone Xperia E5 Enters Indian Market with a Bang


BENGALURU: After the successful release of Xperia X and Xperia XA under the Xperia smartphones banner, Sony now plans to launch their previously rumored budget smartphone called the Xperia E5. Sony, as a brand have positioned themselves remarkably in the existing market scenario with their innovative line of products like the Playstation, television sets, and digital cameras. The Xperia E series of smartphones has gained impressive recognition in parts of Europe and their market presence in India is pretty formidable as well.

The latest introduction from Sony features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by a MediaTek Quad-core chipset processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The Xperia E smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow OS. The internal storage can be expanded up to 200 GB by adding a microSD card. Moreover, the smartphone will come in two color variants, black and white. Furthermore, the device is powered by a 2,500mAh battery.

On the lens front, the smartphone packs a 13MP camera on the back, featuring an Exmor RS sensor along with Sony’s Hybrid autofocus system. The rear camera of this budget phone combines LED flash and facilitates 1080p video recording. The front-facing lens integrates a 5MP sensor, which additionally features an 88 degree wide angle lens. This budget phone has a dual SIM setup and features 4G LTE bands for connectivity. Moreover, the device also comprises of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options.

Sony is planning to integrate some additional software as part of their latest introduction. A new feature, called “Smart Cleaner” runs in the background to ensure that no apps or games consume any unwanted storage. This feature sort of boosts the handset’s performance, an aspect that consumers would be glad to have on their phones. The budget phone will be available for purchase towards the end of June at an approximate cost of RS 15,000 and initial release will commence in selected European, Latin American, African and some Middle Eastern regions.
