LG Likely to Introduce Some Innovative Features in its Upcoming G6 Smartphone

BENGALURU: After receiving negative responses for its previously launched G5 smartphone, LG will now introduce its new flagship variant––the LG G6, in a bid to make an impact on the entire smartphone arena. Recent rumors suggest that the new variant is expected to roll out with new technologies such as mobile payment system and an iris scanner. Moreover, reports from the Korea Herald also indicate that the phone is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2017.

LG revealed its all-in-one module at the Korean Electronics Show held in October. The new module is capable enough to serve as a highly functional camera, as well as iris scanner. Furthermore, the smartphone is rumored to be embedded with a mobile payment service known as LG Pay that operates on the Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology. In a hassle-free manner, the technology enables users to process online transactions by placing their devices on magnetic card readers. As an added advantage, majority of the currently available card readers are compatible with the MST technology.

According to rumors, it is also likely that LG will introduce a removable battery option and modular accessories with its upcoming G6 smartphone; making it exceptional in every aspect.

The company’s new strategy aims to compensate for the massive $67 million loss incurred by the failure of its previous G5 variant.
