HTC Pulse CDMA smartphone in India with one year free contract


Bangalore: MTS is launching its first CDMA smartphone in market, HTC Pulse. The launch of the Android 2.1 based CDMA smartphone is also the celebration of the company reaching the 10 million subscribers in India. The phone is the first operator subsidized smartphone in the country and it comes with a one year free contract and has a post paid monthly data plan of 1500. The plan includes 1,500 minutes talk time, 1,500 messages and 1.500 MB of data every month for the first one year. Consumer can also buy the device the separately from MTS for 18,000. The phone has 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7600 processor. It also features 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. It has a 5MP camera, 3.1 MBps CDMA EVDO 3G connectivity. The 120 grams phone comes with a 3 inch touchscreen and has a 320x480 resolution. HTC Pulse also supports microSD cards upto 32GB. The 1300mAh Li-ion battery delivers upto 3 hours and 34 minutes of talktime and a standby time of 373 hours. User can also use Apalya, a service MTS has tied up with, for mobile TV apart from the usual Android ecosystem. HTC Pulse has not yet confirmed if it will use Froyo OS or not. Reliance, LG and Samsung have already launched CDMA smartphones in India. But it didn't get very good response from the market. Adding the HTC Pulse in the market, now consumer will have more option for CDMA smartphones.
