Google Project Glass also has a Competitor!

Bangalore: The innovative Google Project Glasses is not even available in the market, but it has already got some potential competitors. Oakley is developing an eyewear that can project information onto the eyewear lenses, which is somewhat similar to the concept of  Google Project Glass.

The technology would let Oakley, a division of Italy’s Luxottica Group SpA (LUX), make hardware that’s comparable with Google’s Project Glass, an experimental effort to build smartphone features into eyewear, Oakley CEO, Colin Baden said to Bloomberg in an interview.

He also said that the technology will work when connected with a smartphone using Bluetooth and can also use voice commands like Siri in the iPhone 4S. The company is working on technologies like head-up displays since 15 years and has 600 patents.

The craze of wearable gadgets is on the raise and future of these interactive glasses seems to be promising but quite ahead of time.
