Flipkart Ties up With Karbonn to launch Low Cost Android Phones


BANGALORE: The Indian e-commerce giant, Flipkart teams up with Karbonn mobiles to bring out four entry level Smartphones with a starting price of 2,699. The phones will exclusively be available on Flipkart and two of these phones will run on the latest version of the Android OS 4.4 Kitkat, reports Times of India.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, SVP - retail at Flipkart said, "It is our continuous endeavor to make technology available easily and at affordable prices to the greater masses of India. In this digital age, we believe every Indian should have access to a smartphone. These Karbonn phones that have been made exclusively for Flipkart customers are a step in that direction."

Four phones namely, Karbonn A52+, Smart A12, Smart A11 and Smart A50S. All the phones will be available in white and black colors with a dual Sim option.

The Karbonn A50S comes with a 3.5 inch display and is powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor, along with 512 MB of RAM. Priced at 2699, the phone runs on Android version of the OS 4.2 Jelly Bean and has a 2 Mega pixel camera on the rear and a secondary one on the front side one too. It also comes with an 1100 mAh battery and 2 GB internal storage memory. Similarly, the A50+ priced at 3099 comes with the same hardware and RAM specifications as the A50S but this phone has a 4GB of internal storage memory and a better battery of 1300 mAh with running the same Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean on it.

However the other two phones, the Karbonn smart A11 and A12 Smartphones come with the latest version of the Android OS making it the cheapest ones with the 4.4 Kitkat in the market. Along with that, both the phones have 1400 mAh battery and come with a 5 Mega pixel primary camera and a secondary one on the front side too. Hardware on the phone includes a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with a 512 MB of RAM alongside a 4GB of internal storage with 3G connectivity on both the handsets. Priced at 4099, the A12 comes with a 4-inch display and A11 will be available for 4499 with a 4.3-inch screen.
