Expected Features of Next-Gen iPhone

BANGALORE: Apple has been lagging behind the specification race for some time now. Android is speeding up with packing its devices with 4GB RAM while the latest iPhones still offer 1GB.

However, the company is gearing up to compete in that sector as well. Reportedly, new iPhone would boost the internal RAM to 2GB and have faster Apple A9 processor clubbed with RAM technology of LPDDR4. Hynix, Samsung and Micron-Elpida would be among the prime suppliers of LPDDR4 RAM modules, reports NDTV.

This information on the specifications of the new iPhone hit the web when Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities, unveiled the note of 11 predictions to the investors for the Apple’s next iPhone.

The next generation iPhone would also use the Force Touch Technology as the prime selling factor akin to Apple Watch and 12-inch MacBook. This technology presents more input methods to users and support manually written signatures.

The new generation phones would enclose the same 4.7 and 5.5-inch display along with the same resolutions that the existing iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus possess. The smartphones would also be launched in new color casing of Rose Gold to go down well with the new Rose Gold edition of Apple Watch.

The camera in the new generation would also witness a boost from the current 8 megapixels to 12 megapixels. Moreover to enhance the voice clarity the microphone will be placed near to the speaker and the company would also come up with changes in the internal mechanical design to avoid bending. The limited edition of the 5.5-inch model might also introduce sapphire cover lens.

Apart from working on the Touch ID sensor, Apple will also bring in gesture control support.

In addition to this, Kuo also predicted the mass production to start somewhere form the mid to late August and expects some 80-90 million units to be shipped this year.
