Samsung Note 7 Battery Defects Increases iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Market Demand


BENGALURU: The Darwin evolutionary theory of “the survival of the fittest” seats apt in case of technological trend, forcing the manufacturers to adapt new changes. Especially in the Smartphone market, there has been an exponential growth in technologies, with wide array of product releases every now and then. The launch of Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus gives a distinctive clarity in the growing demand of the products with more than 50 percent of booking at retail stores in India compared to its last release of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

According to the Business Insider India, the new series of iPhone comes with exotic features and upgrades, including advanced new camera systems and attractive battery life. Another contributing factor for an increase in the booking of Apple is the delay in the launch of competitor’s phone that includes Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Certain complaints regarding its battery catching fire has bestowed iPhone to attract more customers.

To tackle the backdrop of Samsung in the competition, the company has decided to run a safety campaign. In addition, Samsung has even supplicated to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to lift the ban on using Note 7 on flights. Since the device is not yet launched in India, the DGCA has agreed to follow the directive of Federal Aviation Administration along with a written safety declaration of the devices in India.

The major setback for Samsung is the delay in the launch of its new Note 7, impelling the Smartphone giant to launch the phone in advance before the release of iPhone 7 in India.  This in turn will help Samsung to compete with the iPhone series, and other rivalry smartphone maker.
