'Flappy Bird' To Fly Again; Thanks To Alternatives

Bangalore: It’s time for ‘Flappy bird’ game fans to rejoice as their favorite app is now available in alternative avatars. Gamers were disappointed when their most loved game ‘Flappy bird’ was removed from App Store and Google Play by its creator Nguyen Ha Dong saying, “it ruined my life”.

A variety of websites now host the popular game online, even though without the permission of original designer. "Flappy Bird" still runs at sites like Flappybirds.com, FlappyBird.com and Flappybird.io.

Flappybirds.com reads "Don't worry we are not going anywhere, play Flappy Bird online for free! No longer available in the app store."

If you're looking for a mobile gaming experience, you will have to shell out more than $1 million. iPhone 4s loaded with "Flappy Bird" is listed on eBay for $134,295 while iPhone 5s with the game is available for $99,999.

On App Store alone, the game was downloaded more than 50 million times. It is reported that the website is making $50,000 a day in advertising revenue, according to its creator Dong.

On Twitter Dong didn't respond to allegations that the amount of downloads are over-stated, but denied suggestions that he was withdrawing the game as it breached another game designer's copyright. He said, "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore."
