Motorola is trying hard to sustain in the smartphone market. The major concentration the company is giving in its smartphone is the battery life; they know that this is one of the major pain-point which customers expect to be solved. When considered the look Atrix 2 is not the one who can top, its bit bulky weighing about 147 grams. The device is sturdy with its hard plastic built and rubberized ends which gives nice grip.

The Good: Long lasting battery, bright screen, comparatively low price

The Bad: Bit bulky than other Android smartphones, missing apps, no Near Field Communication (NFC) chip, powered with comparatively lower processor.

Design: The phone has a nice curved edge design with smooth silver finished thin frame both the sides. The front of the phone it has a large touch screen display with Gorilla Glass protection. Above the display sits the earpieces, on the lift it has a VGA camera for video calls and a tiny LED notification light on the right side of the earpiece and below the display it has four main functions capacitive touch keys.

On the top of the phone it has power button, headphone jack and a pin hole for secondary microphone that can be used for voice recording. On the left hand side you will find the volume rockers and a camera shutter key. On the right hand side you will find the micro HDMI port and the micro USB port. On the back it has a textured battery cover with camera and speaker.

Processor and Operating System: The Atrix 2 is powered with Dual-Core TI OMAP 4430 processor at a clock speed of 1 GHz along with 1GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX540 graphic processor unit.

It comes with Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system onboard which is upgradable to the Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Screen: It sports 4.3 inch touch screen display with Gorilla Glass protection and also has an oleophobic coating which means that your fingerprints can be wiped off easily. The screen has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels which delivers pretty good with natural colors and crisp image.

Camera: The device comes with a 8 mega pixel shooter at the back and VGA secondary camera at the front. The primary features auto focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, image stabilization and captures images at 3264x2448 pixels.

Storage and Connectivity: It comes with 8 GB internal memory along with a microSD card slot for expanding memory up to 32 GB.

For connectivity it comes with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, HDMI port, Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS and mini USB for charging and data transfer.

Battery: It comes with Li-Ion 1785 mAh Standard battery which offers up to 382 hours of standby time and up to 8 hours and 50 minutes of talk time.

Wrap Up: The bottom line is that the phone is a good option to consider in the mid-range smartphones. The only downside that the device is slightly bulky, but the good part is it gives excellent battery life.

The Motorola Atrix 2 is priced at Rs.22,000, which seems a pretty decent price to buy and one should also consider its competitors like HTC Sensation which is around the same price and better than the Atrix 2. You can also consider the new Lava Xolo X900 which has a higher resolution display and also the first smartphone to have Intel processor.
