LG Optimus L5 E610

Price: Rs. 12000 - Rs. 13000
The LG Optimus L5 is a mid range smartphone by the company. The L series smartphone are meant to be stylish and affordable. The L5 lies between the high-range L7 and low-range L3 smartphones.

Design: The L-Series handset comes with the company's unique design philosophy; L-Style. The L-shape of the device is meant to increase the usability of its touchscreen display for better navigation and keyboard functionalities.

The L5 is designed to fit comfortably in hands, it has a 4.0 inch screen at the front and a physical home button below the screen along with two capacitive touch keys. The battery cover is fully made with plastic with LG traditional snake skin pattern for firm grip and has a camera with LED flash.

The power cum lock key on top with 3.5 mm audio jack, on the left it has volume rocker and on the right hand side there is absolutely nothing.

Processor and Operating System: The LG Optimus L5 is powered with Single-Core 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A mobile processor, 512 MB of RAM and runs on Android 4.0 ICS operating system.

Display: All the L series smartphones have terrible screen resolution and the L5 is no exception. It comes with 4 inch HVGA touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

The display is sufficiently bright for operation in sunlight but the viewing angle is quite disappointing.

Camera: The device comes with 5 megapixel shooter at the back with LED flash. The camera features autofocus, geo-tagging panorama mode and continuous shooting mode. The 5 megapixel camera can record VGA videos at 30 frames per second and doesn't have a front facing camera.

Storage and Connectivity: The L5 has 4 GB of internal memory in which 2.5 GB is available for users. It also has a card slot for expandable memory up to 32 GB using microSD card slot.

For connectivity it supports Near Field Communication (NFC), Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPRS. The device also supports dual-SIM functionality.

Battery: The L5 comes with 1540 mAh battery which offers up to 10 hours of talk time in 2G and 3G which is pretty impressive and 900 hours of standby time on 2G and 3G.

Wrap-Up: The LG Optimus L5 is good for first time smartphone users, with fairly slower single-core processor and average screen resolution it won’t appeal to be in the mid ranged smartphone segment.

But the design is pretty comfortable to hold and nice to look, moreover the body construction is good, has above average battery life and the 5 megapixel shooter takes good images unfortunately the VGA video recording is a disappointment.
