Speaker Bio:

Huzur Saran

HOD-Computer Science, IIT Delhi

Huzur Saran is the Head of the Department of Computer Science at IIT Delhi.He did his Ph. D in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.His research is focused on Computer Security, Networks and Algorithms. Saran has been a leading advocate of Broadband Wireless and has been actively working in 4G wireless technologies. Saran has worked on the media access control layer of an exploratory 4G wireless systems. He has been investigating wireless access and mesh technologies to enable ICT for rural masses. During 2002-2004 he worked on WIPO: Wireless internet Post Office based on handhelds and Wireless Mesh networks for rural communication. More recently his group has been working on a rural content distribution framework for building disruption tolerant applications and to enable peer-to-peer audio/video collaboration. The work is supported in part under the National Mission on Education through ICT. He is on the Board of Directors of Gram Vaani a product of succesful collaboration between IIT Delhi and the University of Waterloo. Saran has also collaborated in the past with AT&T Research and Lucent Bell Labs which he visited six times during 1993-2000 as a consultant., Dr Saran has also been a consultant during 2004-2010 to Solidcore Inc, an Systems Security Startup. During this time he helped define and build a novel software protection technology for critical servers and embedded products. Solidcore Inc was purchased by Mcafee in for its pathbreaking Dynamic Whitelisting technology.

Mukesh Kumar

Shankar Aggarwal

Shankar Aggarwal is a 1980 batch IAS officer who has worked in various Central and State Govt. Ministries before taking charge in the Ministry of IT as the Head of NeGP (National e-Governance Plan). He is shouldering a very important responsibility of carrying the nation to the next level by evangelizing the use of ICT in making Government services accessible to the common man in his locality, through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency & reliability of such services at affordable costs to realize the basic needs of the common man. For the implementation of NeGP, DIT is creating the Common and Support Infrastructure and making suitable arrangements for monitoring and coordinating the implementation of NeGP under the directions of the competent authorities in this regard. The DIT also has taken initiatives to evolve/ lay down Standards and Policy Guidelines, provide Technical and Handholding Support, undertake Capacity Building, R&D, etc., as required, for successful implementation of various e-Governance Projects. He has held key leadership positions in Deptt. of Housing and Urban Planning, Deptt of technical education, Trade Tax, State Transport, Bundelkhand University, Indian Oil Corporation, Small Scale Industries, Personnel & Training in the Central Government and Conventional and Non Conventional Energy Department in State Government of UP

Vijay Sethi

Vijay Sethi is an MBA in Industrial Technology, has 20 yrs of rich experience in industry and consulting environment.He is a regular speaker at various national and international symposia and conferences on various facets of IT including Trends in IT, Information Security, SAP, Supply Chain, Project Management and is member of various forums including IT committees of CII and SIAM.
