CAT Exam 2012

CAT dates for 2012 is not release now. But application form for CAT is generally release in the month of September and exam starts in the month of Oct - Nov.


CAT Exam 2012 Selection Process

Candidates in the Final Year of Graduation For CAT Exam -After giving the examination if the candidate is short listed for interview, and he/she is appearing for the final bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification examination must show an original certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the university/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and DA category) based on latest available grades/marks. He/she must submit a photocopy of the original certificate at the time of interview.

For the PGP of IIMs, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate, stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit original mark sheet and degree certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. They must obtain at least 50% marks or equivalent. They also must submit a photocopy of the mark sheets and degree certificate. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. IIMs would not allow any candidate to join their programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process.

What is CAT Exam 2012 Paper Pattern and Duration ?

The duration of the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes including initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test. The test consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities. Therefore, there are a total of three sections in the test. There will be about 60 questions in the test.

At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.

     Management Aptitude Test - MAT

 Management Aptitude Test - MAT is usually conducted four times in a year in January, May, September and December. The minimum qualification is graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or equivalent recognized degree. A final-year student can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation which is different for different MI’s/ universities.

MAT 2012 - Management Aptitude Test for 2012-

MAT 2012 Eligibility:-

Every quarterly, the exam is conducted which has the following criteria:
1.    The candidate appearing for MAT 2012 should be a graduate form an acclaimed university. The final year graduate students can also sit for MAT test.
2.    There is no age limit to appear for this test.
3.    Similarly, there are no minimum marks required in graduation to appear for MAT.

IBSAT 2012 Important Dates

Online Application

Applicants can apply online by filling up the Application Form available at www.ibsat.org and make payment of Rs. 1,200 towards the cost using Credit/Debit Card (Visa/Master Card/Citibank Card) through secure internet payment gateway. The PGPM Prospectus and Application Material will be sent to such applicants.

Alternatively, applicants can download the Application Form from www.ibsat.org, complete it and send it to the Admission Officer along with the demand draft of Rs. 1,200 towards the cost (DD in favor of 'IUCF A/c IBS' payable at Hyderabad). The PGPM Prospectus and Application Material will be sent to such applicants.

The last date for receiving the completed Application form is April 14, 2012.

All applicants have to submit the self attested copy of score card of the respective test taken along with the Application Form.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade :

IIFT or Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, is an autonomous organization under the Indian Government. It aims to nurture the future foreign trade managers of India, and boost foreign trade through managerial best practices. IIFT conducts an autonomous examination by the same name. The examination is conducted out of 200 marks, consisting of four Sections; English Comprehension, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis.

Pattern of Admission Test

The admission test is a multiple choice objective type written test (in English). Duration of the test is two hours. It normally consists of around 200 questions covering ENGLISH COMPREHENSION, GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & AWARENESS, and LOGICAL REASONING AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS.
 

Karnataka PGCET:

   Karnataka Post Graduation Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is a test conducted by Vishweshwaraiah Technological University or VTU. It admits the students to the professional Post Graduate courses under this university. This examination consists of four sections; Quantitative Ability, Analytical reasoning, Logical reasoning and Computer Awareness.

•PGCET Entrance Test for MDS will be conducted on : 12th February 2012.
•Application forms will be available from 4th Week of November, 2011.
•Last date to receive application forms by post : 3rd Week of November, 2011.

XAT (Xavier's Aptitude Test):

XAT is an MBA entrance examination conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, to get the students admitted to this leading B-School of India. Admission in some of the associate institutes of XLRI, such as, Xavier Institute of Development Action and Studies, Xavier Institute of Management, Xavier Institute of Social Service are also dependent on XAT scores. XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is normally conducted in January.

Registration for XAT 2012 will start from 20th September 2011.

SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude test):

SNAP or Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is a common admission test, conducted to admit the students into various post graduate courses offered by Symbiosis International University. This admission is not just limited to MBA courses, but also Mass Communication, Biomedical Sciences, Economics, Geo-Informatics and banking. There are seventeen colleges under SIU that admits students on the basis on the SNAP scores. This exam is generally conducted in December or January.
