Bangalore : The eagerly awaited Delhi Development Authority (DDA) latest Housing scheme can be seen online on YouTube in next month as Delhi Development Authority has engaged with the government agency C-DAC to carry out the live webcast on YouTube, said by top official. The DDA had expected date to perform a draw may be extended by 5-6 days from 5th November 2014 as of pending tasks of DDA. The online live webcast of the housing scheme would be available for “unlimited users” through YouTube.

V S Tomar, Director Systems of DDA told PTI that; “To bring more transparency to the whole process of draw a few days ago, a gathering was held with Delhi based vendors and the DDA vice chairman has approved the proposal to broadcast the draw process through live streaming.” The final results of each flat will be updated on DDA website. he again added that; “we have decided YouTube for broadcast not our official website, to prevent a chance of crashing the site”.

“The complete live online webcast will be almost two hours long and before the process, the authority will explain the detailed process to viewers on the video, this live broadcast of housing scheme would be the first time in the DDA history”, DDA Vice chairman Balvinder Kumar added.

The new Housing scheme which offers over 25,034 flats in various categories, ranging from Rs 7 Lakh to Rs 1.2 crore was closed on October 15. Till date, DDA has received more than 8.5 Lakh applications.

“The online draw proposal submitted by Delhi based vendors was approved because the proposed budget for the project turned out to be “cost-effective”. The proposal will have no restrictions on online users as the video would be streamed online through a You Tube channel”, Tomar added.

By considering all precautionary measures, the authority has decided to set up a dedicated server which has load balancing facility to deal with the “expected rush of online traffic” on its official website as the website had crushed during the launch of earlier scheme.

As per the PTI report, Tomar said that “the venue of the draw has not been decided so far, it may be conducted either in Noida C-DAC office or vikas Sadan, the DDA head quarter where the last DDA housing scheme draw was conducted at C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing).

“Both places have their pros and cons and we are planning to conduct the draw in a best possible way, if C-DAC agrees to shift its server to head quarters, Vikas Sadan then we perform it either in Auction hall or Conference hall having a capacity of  between 200-250”, he said.

Tomar said, the procedure for the draw has been uploaded on the website and the applicants can check their status. He also added that “It was decided not to provide the broad cast link in the official website to avoid the chances of crashing the website”.

“The draw takes over 60 minutes, and the live updates will also be accessible in official website and the respective websites of empanelled banks. The final results of successful applicants will be listed in website after 30 minutes of draw.” Mr. Tomar added.
