The University of Wales, Newport can trace its roots back to 1841 and today attracts students from all over the world.

Newport Business Course :The courses within our School have been carefully designed in conjunction with many leading professional bodies and industries, to enable our students to have the best chance of employment and career progression when they graduate. We offer courses in the areas of Business & Law, Accounting & HR, Computing, Engineering and Management & Marketing.

As a Newport student you will join people locally, nationally and internationally studying Higher National Certificates/Diplomas, Foundation Degrees, through to Degrees, Masters, Professional and PhD qualifications.

The School of Health and Social Sciences : The School of Health and Social Sciences currently runs courses on both the Caerleon and Allt-yr-yn campuses.

You will find a variety of courses available that are continually evolving to incorporate the research material generated by our Academic staff.

The School consists of two departments:-

    * Department of Social Sciences

Flexible courses

We offer a wide range of subjects which can be taken together or alone on a full-time or part-time basis.

Subjects in the School include Health, Sport, Counselling, Psychology, Social Welfare, Criminal, Community and Youth Justice, Youth and Community Studies, Social Work and Probation alongside various combinations of the above areas. Many of our staff are actively researching their specialisms and this is reflected in the teaching – both in the classroom and outside.

All of our undergraduate courses offer you the chance to develop your employability via a work placement. These can be organised by ourselves or independently and ensure that you don’t leave with a 3 year gap on your CV!!

Our growing postgraduate portfolio is also heavily work placement based, preparing you for the next step into your career.
